Residential Treatment

Tuerk House offers multiple levels of residential treatment for addiction, giving our patients a stepping-stone approach to success in their commitment to life-long recovery. With every stride, patients learn how to apply recovery and self-care skills and build a social network that is supportive of their sobriety.

Levels of Residential Treatment:

The High-Intensity Residential Program provides structured, intensive treatment services in a 24-hour residential setting for individuals with significant substance use disorders who require a highly supportive therapeutic environment. This level of care is designed for individuals who need frequent clinical contact, behavioral stabilization, and a highly structured daily schedule to support recovery. Services focus on developing coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and addressing co-occurring behavioral or emotional challenges.

Required Clinical Hours:
Patients in the High-Intensity Residential Program typically receive 20–40 hours of structured clinical services per week, which may include individual counseling, group therapy, psychoeducation, case management, recovery support services, and life-skills training.

What is Expected from Patients:

  • Attend and actively participate in all scheduled groups and individual counseling sessions
  • Follow program rules, schedules, and treatment plans
  • Participate in recovery-oriented activities and peer support
  • Demonstrate progress in behavioral stabilization and recovery skills
  • Work toward transitioning to a lower level of care when clinically appropriate

The Medium-Intensity Residential Program provides 24-hour supportive living with structured therapeutic services for individuals who require continued treatment and recovery support but do not need the level of intensity provided in high-intensity programs. This level of care is appropriate for individuals who benefit from a structured environment while building independent living skills and maintaining recovery stability.

Required Clinical Hours:

Patients in the Medium-Intensity Residential Program typically receive 10–19 hours of clinical services per week, including group counseling, individual therapy, case management, recovery support services, and skill-building activities.

What is Expected from Patients:

  • Participate consistently in counseling sessions and recovery groups
  • Work with counselors to develop and follow an individualized treatment plan
  • Engage in life-skills development such as employment readiness, education, and independent living skills
  • Maintain sobriety and follow program expectations
  • Prepare for transition to a lower level of care or community living

The Low-Intensity Residential Program provides a supportive, recovery-focused living environment for individuals who require ongoing structure and peer support while maintaining a higher level of independence. This level of care emphasizes recovery maintenance, relapse prevention, and reintegration into the community, including employment, education, and independent living.

Required Clinical Hours:

Patients in the Low-Intensity Residential Program typically receive at least 5 hours of clinical services per week, which may include counseling, recovery groups, case management, and supportive services.

What is Expected from Patients:

  • Participate in scheduled counseling and recovery support groups
  • Maintain sobriety and follow house and program guidelines
  • Engage in employment, vocational training, education, or community activities
  • Continue developing relapse prevention and recovery maintenance skills
  • Work toward successful transition to independent living and long-term recovery supports
